Hello Sarah Thanks so much for your enquiry regarding the Maddy crystal belt. This piece is indeed backed onto ribbon, and actually needs to be, as the crystal elements are made in separate 1.5" clusters and are not joined together, so it wouldn't really be suitable as a hair accessory. The crystals are also quite large and may be too heavy and difficult to secure. A number of our hairvines do have loops at the ends for securing - and, if they come with ribbons, these can just be removed.
