It’s always a huge thrill to receive photos of our ‘real life’ brides, and the ones that we received from Rachel Dean from her London winter wedding were just so gorgeous, we just had to share them with you!

When Rachel was planning her big day to New Zealander, Dan, she was on the hunt for an extra special bridal headpiece.  Rachel wanted something with a  vintage/boho vibe that would perfectly complement her David Fielden dress.

Describing the ‘brow’ style bridal headpiece that she wanted, we knew that there was one designer that could design the type of piece that Rachel was looking for: Hayley from Fabledreams.  As it happened, Hayley was busy designing new pieces for her future collection and, coincidentally, her garland bridal headpiece perfectly fitted the bill!  Designed to be worn across the forehead, the bridal headpiece had decadently detailed flower embellishments and was finished with delicate tulle.

The gorgeous headpiece was perfect for the glamorous wedding theme, which incorporated peacock feather accents.  Rachel says “I love peacock feathers as they incorporate my two favourite colours of turquoise and purple. Also, as it was a winter wedding, I wanted to have a not-too-obvious (and non-tacky!) winter wedding feel.  So I chose ivory cream and white flowers with twinkly crystals and peacock feathers.”

Vintage wedding accessories used in the theme

Rachel included a number of personal touches to the wedding theme, including her ‘passport’ wedding invitations.  This was quite apt as Dan’s from New Zealand while Rachel is from Wales. Their relationship was a long distance one which featured lots of international travel, which the invitations perfectly referenced!

The glamorous vintage/boho styling was continued through into the other elements of the wedding, from the bridesmaids’ headpieces, buttonholes and table centres with white twigs. The peacock feathers used throughout added extra colour and vibrancy.

A wedding as gorgeous as the happy couple – congratulations!  And, we know that weren’t the only ones to think that.  Just a few months ago, Rachel and Dean were featured in the Rock n Roll Bride blog when Rachel and Dan took part as models in international wedding photographer, Jasmine Starr’s workshop in London organised by Kat Williams.  Much thanks to both Kat Williams and Jasmine Starr for their kind permission to use their photographs.

The garland headpiece by Fabledreams is available online from February 2012. Contact us if you are interested in making an enquiry regarding this piece.
